When you get dentures for the first time you can expect to undergo a period of awkwardness. Control of your dentures may be difficult at first, but will gradually improve. The time required to become accustomed to new dentures varies with each individual. Some patients master their dentures in a very short time. Others require weeks of patience. It usually takes six to eight weeks to become accustomed to them.
